Budo Karate Art
A school system built on the karate of Hidetaka Nishiyama. We train under instructors who studied directly with Nishiyama sensei, and we carry his principles forward at the dojo, one technique at a time.

Budo Karate Art is a school system grounded in the karate taught by Hidetaka Nishiyama. Many of our instructors trained directly under Nishiyama sensei, learning not a fixed set of moves but a way of understanding the body, breath, and timing behind every technique.
We continue that work today. At the dojo, we practice, we question, we refine. Karate, for us, stays a living art rather than a copied form.

Total body contraction at the moment of impact, pressure into the floor, breath that drives the technique rather than follows it.

A licence renewed by practice, not paperwork
Four tiers, each one earned through seminars led by senior instructors.
Sho Dan +
Examined by a Gold, Platinum, or Master instructor, or the technical director.
Ni Dan +
Annual seminar with a Master instructor; testing rights up to 1st Kyu.
Yon Dan +
National instructor standing; can assess faulty movement and its causes.
Go Dan +
International instructor; can examine candidates up to advanced Dan grades.
